First you must understand the person in charge of selecting the bean blend and the roasting recipe is called a Roast Master. When creating an espresso blend to be selected by a coffee shop owner, a Roast Master will follow an espresso "recipe" or "roast profile" to bring out the desired flavor and qualities that brand an espresso's taste. Espresso bars usually serve the espresso blend that is common to their region.  A Roast Master will use a well practiced combination of bean mass temperature, smell, color, and sound to monitor the roasting process, as the coffee bean blend peaks in flavor for that specific recipe.

The Espresso Blends are from a number of places such as:
  • Brazil
  • Dominican Republic
  • Mexico
  • Peru
  • Panama

Lesser amount espresso blend bean comes from:
  • Colombia
  • Costa Rica
  • Guatemala
  • Venezuela

  • Ethiopian Harrar
  • Kenyan

  • Zimbabwe
  • Zambian
Most richness and body of espresso blends will come from countries like:
  • Asian Pacific
